Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer structured weekday training schedules?
Yes. Each training day has a purpose, a focus and a plan and we layout the schedule for you. Each person is free to make changes based on work-life balance, time available, personal schedules, etc. Consulting with coaches and asking questions on the forum is advised when making changes to your schedule.

Does the group meet during the week?
Yes. Mondays at the YMCA, Tuesdays at Dr Thiry's office, Thursdays at Georges Cycle, plus updates to additional weekday workouts available to you located on the forum.

Who should join TriBOISE?
Anyone looking to train for multisport races in a group of like minded people seeking to have as much fun as possible, with structured group workouts and professional coaching support. If you're heading to your first tri or working on a personal best, TriBOISE is the support and training group for you.

I have never done a triathlon. Should I join TriBOISE?
Absolutely, we specialize in beginners. We were all beginners at one time and understand what you are going through. We actually envy you in some regards for we know how much this means to you and we know how excited you are. We'd like to help you deal with some of the complex issues, avoid over training and provide you a fun program with a purposeful approach to training.

How much time does training require?
Training will average about 10 (+/-) hours each week for people with a goal to simply finish a 70.3 triathlon, or up to 15 hours per week for performance based time goals.

I would like to take more time to prepare.
We can easily modify a program to prepare you for a suitable target event. An extra base phase might be all you need before adding intensity in the build phases. Part of the principle of periodization includes emphasis on the individual's needs. What's appropriate for one might not be for another. Talk to your awesome coaches and post questions on the forum.

I may not make it to every Saturday training session. Is this OK?
Some will not make all Saturdays and this is normal. The program is useful as a whole and adaptable to your situation. Occasionally there are additional sessions, clinics, and seminars, and if you attend 70-80% or more of all the sessions, you'll probably do fine. We structure our training to review important topics throughout the season. Plus, post all your questions on the forum.
